Who Should Take This Course?
This training is essential for individuals performing live electrical work, working with live switchboards, or operating in environments where electrocution hazards exist.
The course includes:
- Self-paced online learning (approx. 2 hours)
- 1-hour face-to-face practical assessment
(Online learning must be completed before attending the practical session.)
Course Overview
Students completing this course will gain the skills and knowledge required to perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) panels and provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions.
It includes the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of live LV panel rescue equipment, and how it applies to electricity supply industry (ESI) workers and/or electrical industry workers to meet work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), mobility and mutual aid requirements.
Entry requirements
There is no formal entry requirements for this course. However, students enrolling in the Express course delivery are encouraged to have existing skills relevant to the course content. For example, they may be renewing a certification, completing refresher training, or regularly using the skills covered by the course in their workplace.
Note: Students who attend Express courses and are deemed Not Yet Competent (NYC) may be required to undertake additional training and reassessment or re-enrol in the course before competency can be achieved.

Upon successful completion of all the requirements of this course, the following unit(s) will be issued by ABC Licence Training Pty LTD – RTO 3399
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live Low Voltage panel
Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:
- Identify and minimise immediate hazards to health and safety
- Recognise the need for CPR and assess casualties effectively
- Perform CPR in accordance with ARC guidelines
- Operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Conduct a safe rescue from a live LV panel
- Report incidents in line with workplace and legal requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of records and information
Certification & Renewal
- Validity: HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation + UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel certificates from First Aid Certified are valid for 12 months.
- Renewal: Annual refresher training is required to ensure compliance with the latest safety guidelines.

Course renewal requirements
The Statement of Attainment is valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.
Pre-requisites
There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course. However, learners will require English Language, Literacy, numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills.
Assessment requirements
Assessment will include a mix of knowledge and practical assessments, including use of CPR techniques, risk assessment and performing low voltage rescue procedures.
