First Aid Certified (ONEU Health Solutions Pty Ltd) delivers Subcutaneous Injection Training (Refresher) designed for organisations that support individuals requiring prescribed subcutaneous injections under delegation.

This course is tailored for NDIS disability support workers and is delivered through a blended learning model to ensure participants refresh their knowledge and have their practical skills assessed in a safe and consistent manner.

Course Overview

The Subcutaneous Injection Training – Refresher assists organisations in maintaining workforce competence in accordance with the following requirements:

  • NDIS Practice Standards
  • Organisational medication policies
  • Delegation and clinical governance requirements

This training is intended for workers who have previously completed subcutaneous injection training and now require an annual or periodic refresher.

What the Course Covers

Participants will review the following topics:

  • Key principles of subcutaneous injection practice
  • Delegation, consent, and scope of practice under the NDIS
  • Infection control and sharps safety requirements
  • Approved injection sites and site rotation
  • Risk prevention, including lipohypertrophy
  • Documentation requirements and escalation of concerns

Face-to-Face Practical Assessment
  • 1-hour supervised session
  • Conducted by a qualified trainer/assessor
  • Practical demonstration using training equipment
  • Competency assessed using a structured checklist
  • Outcome recorded as Competent / Not Yet Competent

Both components must be completed to achieve course completion.

Assessment & Certification

Participants must:

  • Pass the online knowledge assessment
  • Be assessed as Competent in the practical session

Upon successful completion, participants will be issued with a:
Certificate of Completion from First Aid Certified (ONEU Health Solutions Pty Ltd)
